I never thought I would say this, but this video was ruined by…clear path fouls. Everybody already knows that clear path fouls are the lamest fouls in the game because it takes the refs like five minutes to pause the replay and determine where everybody was standing when the foul occurred. Now it turns out that clear path fouls also have the ability to ruin my highlight videos when the same dude gets clear path fouled twice in the same game. A video that already had too many free throws is now almost nothing but free throws. Take my word for it: you don’t want to watch this video.
I’ve got a rule change proposal that should alleviate the problem of clear path fouls taking forever to resolve: any team that plays defense on a fast break (defined as any time when one or more offensive players are across half court before there are three defenders across half court) or otherwise impedes the offensive team’s ability to execute a series of alley-oops where every player alley-oops it to another before the last person does the dunk, will immediately forfeit the game and every member of the team will get suspended from the NBA. For life.
There will no longer be clear-path fouls because nobody will risk playing defense on fast breaks. This will also raise the excitement level of the game because there will be at least fifty uncontested breakaway dunks per game. Can you say in-game dunk contest? I can say it and it sounds like music to my ears.
