Can we go back to the Mason Plumlee of his rookie year where all he did was catch lobs? More importantly, why don’t the selfish guards in Portland want to throw him lobs? It’s cool that he wants to shoot jumpers and stuff, but really, he should be using his superior athleticism to beast on defenders by jumping over them for alley-oops. That’s my honest assessment of where best his unique gifts would be used. And, because it’s my assessment, it’s correct, since I’ve never really been wrong about anything.
Okay. Step one of Mason Plumlee rehabilitation has been confirmed: he needs to catch more lobs. Step two would probably read “get traded to a team with a point guard who likes to throw lobs.” Or “trade the players on the Blazers who do not wish to throw lobs to Mason Plumlee.” Neither one is very easy. Step two is the hardest step. It is especially hard because there is no team in the NBA that has Andre Miller on it. However, it’s not my job to figure out step two of Mason Plumlee’s rehabilitation plan since I already put in most of the work up to this point. Somebody else has to step up here.
