Seth Curry has rebounded a bit from his slow start this season. His three point percentage is still way down from last year (36% vs 45%), but if he keeps shooting 2-of-3 from distance like he did in this game, he should get there by the end of the season. Unfortunately for him, the Mavericks now have too many point guards available after struggling with the opposite problem for the first twenty games. Deron Williams is back, Devin Harris is back I think, J.J. Barea just came back, and Jonathan Gibson is in there too. That puts Seth somewhere between second and fourth on the PG depth chart. Unless…
Unless Seth is actually better as a shooting guard! I wouldn’t know, since I can’t bring myself to watch enough Mavs games to find out, but his skill set definitely seems to lend itself to being a two. He’s like Monta Ellis but with a better three-ball. Mavs fans should fondly remember how good Monta Ellis was for their team. Seth Curry can be Monta Ellis 2.0. Maybe he already is. Again, I don’t want to actually watch Mavs games to find out these things. I’d rather make baseless speculations that sound smart so everybody gets tricked into thinking I know what I’m talking about.
