Usually I agree with Adam Silver’s decisions. In general I support him as commissioner. But he really dropped the ball on this one. Simply put, the Christmas game schedule is a travesty.
How could you not put a Pelicans vs. Knicks game on there? If you’re too dense to figure it out, I’m talking about a Holiday vs. Holiday matchup here. Jrue vs. Justin. The ghost of Christmas past vs. the ghost of Christmas future. Compact, quick assist machine vs. lanky jumpshooter. That would be a Christmas spectacle so intense that Christ himself would return to Earth just to have front row seats and then leave again without doing any of the stuff he promised he would do. That’s how awesome that game would be.
And Adam Silver, through his direct actions, robbed us of this prime opportunity. It makes me sick. I’m literally shaking while writing these words. Actually quivering.
This video might be the closest we get to Christmastime Holiday action. Because you can bet that when the Knicks play on Christmas, Justin Holiday is only gonna get like ten minutes and score four points.
It shouldn’t have to be this way. But it is. I am so sick right now.
