As he showed us last year, Shelvin “The Macksturbator” Mack is actually a decent spot starter in the league. You can put him in and he won’t be a George Hill, but he also won’t be a Raul Neto either. He’ll hit his stupid floaters that every backup point guard relies on, but he can also sometimes hit threes and he’s okay at getting assists. “Sometimes” does this and “okay” at that is actually a perfectly apt description of the Macksturbator AKA The Floater Master. He does things okay. Sometimes.
That’s not bad for a player who the Jazz acquired solely because he was college teammates with Gordon Hayward. Usually when teams try to do reclamation projects on underwhelming collge players by pairing them with familiar teammates, it doesn’t work. At least, that’s what I assume. I can’t actually think of another time when a team has done something like that. I guess that means it doesn’t work! DTB is right again!
