It’s probably not a wise move for Alex Abrines to start copying Anthony Morrow’s shooting motion. Yeah, Morrow is a great shooter, and Abrines could take some tips from him, but there’s a reason no other NBA players use his “don’t bring the ball below your shoulders” shot form. It’s just too unnatural. The human body wasn’t meant to catch a ball and then shoot it without dipping it at all. It’s right there in the design documentation. Look it up if you don’t believe me. Page 276, right next to the section on not eating two slices of pizza at once.
Luckily, Abrines only did it for his first three. The rest of the threes looked normal. If he can keep up his good stretch from deep, that’s like three free assists for Russell Westbrook per game. After all, the only point of the other Thunder players is to generate assists for use in a triple double.
