Okay, so I was gonna write a sweet description for this video, it was going to be the Lopez bros talking over the dinner table at some family gathering like 60 years in the future. And Brook is like “remember when I dunked on you but then Jimmy Butler hit that game winner?” and Robin doesn’t remember at all because Alzheimer’s has utterly ravaged his brain and he doesn’t even recognize his own twin. Then Brook gets really sad thinking about all the good times they had and how those times have been lost to his brother forever, never to return.
When I said “sweet description”, I meant “heart-rending literally-painful-to-read description”. I started writing, and then I was like “nah”, and scrapped it. Too sad for me. I’m not good with the sentimental stuff. If you’re lucky, maybe I’ll post an excerpt in the comments, or maybe not. I want to curl up in a little ball and cuddle my kitty Japurri Purrker just thinking about it.
Anyway, don’t let the concept of brotherly love lost to the cruelty of dementia distract you from the major hurt Brook put on his brother tonight. The Nets may have lost the game, but Brook won the important battle.
