Mocking LeBron James with “playmaker” jokes is somewhat played out now, but don’t you think LeBron wishes he still had Ol’ Joe Harris on his roster? There’s very little to suggest that Harris has ever been, or will ever be, the kind of guy who gets high assist totals, but he’s the kind of cheap utility player that the Cavs probably wish they still had. And you know that when LeBron said “playmaker”, he actually meant “any guy outside of the big three who can be counted on to score or pass.”
Instead, Joe Harris gets to play for the worst team in basketball, a team that also happens to be the place where he’s most likely to secure himself additional NBA contracts. No other team would have given so many minutes to Harris right off the bat; not only did the Nets give Harris those minutes, but Harris has used them to prove that he has a place in this league. A lot of guys get undeserved minutes and fail to do much with them; Harris saw the gigantic scrote of opportunity dangling in front of his face and he bit down hard on it and never let go.
