Walt Frazier has ruined me forever with regards to Nemanja Bjelica. Watching a Knicks-Timberwolves game, I heard Frazier pronounce Bjelica’s name phonetically: something like “Buh-jell-ick-a”. It was laughable in its incorrectness, but now that pronunciation has stuck with me, and I can no longer see his name without thinking in my head “buhjellicka”.
Buhjellicka has been in a protracted slump the last few months. His last game with multiple threes came in December, and he’s had only one double-digit scoring in the new year. He’s been getting decent (for him) minutes too, just not doing anything with them at all. No one’s talking about this slump, because he was never very good in the first place, but it’s still there, and I’m sure Timberwolves fans have noticed.
Serbians may not be as nuts for this dude as they for a certain other NBAer of Serbian origin (MIROSLAV COME BACK), but I know they’re just biding their time, waiting for the time when he busts out and starts scoring 20 points on a semi-regular basis. They showed up to watch the highlights of him scoring 24 early in the season (his best game BY FAR), so maybe they’ll watch this one too?
