There is no reason to discuss anything about or anyone on the Thunder unless it is as it relates to Russell Westbrook’s quest to average a triple-double. Has there ever been a team where one player so thoroughly dominates his team’s narrative? Even Jordan had Pippen. Westbrook has… Oladipo? And Doug “Dougie McThunderBuckets” McDermott.
McDermott hadn’t exactly lit it up in his first two games donning the Thunder blue and orange. Disappointing for all the Thunder fans who hadn’t seen how incosistent he was in Chicago, but expected. Even the best players can’t be injected into new teams and produce right away. It takes a game or two. There are probably a lot of counterexamples to this theory, but I don’t care. It sounded good in my head, so I’m typing it out for you guys.
McThunderBuckets lived up to his new nickname tonight, hitting four triples and two non-triples. Oh wait, I’m supposed to be tying this all into Westbrook and his trippy-doobies. Uh. I guess if McThunderBuckets keeps this up it makes it easier for Westbrook to get more assists? Yeah. That sounds right.
