Before I start the description proper, I just want to get one thing out of the way: there are no blocked shots in this video. There are three plays where Alan “Big Sauce” Williams purportedly blocked the shot of a Thunder player, but all I see are three plays where Big Sauce is kinda in the area of a player who gets the ball stripped from them. And that’s all I have to say about that.
Now, on to the real description. How bad do you think Alex Len is pooping his pants right now? Here’s this undersized hustle guy who’s basically a clone of Jeff Adrien, and he’s coming into games and racking up large amounts of rebounds with absolute ease. This game Williams got thirteen boards in thirty minutes; Len had two in twelve minutes. With every double-double that Big Sauce racks up, Len looks softer and softer and more like a big ol’ bust.
There is no reason that Big Sauce should outplay the Big Ukrainian, but it’s happening right now so the reason is this: Williams has internalized the teachings of Tyson Chandler while Len has ignored them. This game was a test of those teachings: Williams passed and Len failed, and the end result was Len getting a faceful of William’s special sauce, fresh from the source.
