Quincy “Assy” Acy is currently shooting 57% from the three-point zone; while 28 three-point attempts during his Brooklyn tenure is somewhat of a “small sample size”, it’s also a large enough number where it probably means that Acy is, at a minimum, a passable three-point shooter. This might be an Amir Johnson situation where he can never be asked to take one or two threes a game, but when he does take them, he can be counted on to hit them at least some of the time. The parallels between Acy and Amir can continue: they both are “hustle”-type dudes, they both have facial hair, and in the 2012-13 season they were even on the same Raptors team with Rudy Gay (nooo! not this guy!). Spooky.
I don’t know what the future holds for Assy. The second year of his contract is unguaranteed, but he’s underpaid for what he gives you, which is a lot of effort and some scoring to go with it, so he’s likely to still be in the league next year. After that, either he keeps signing tiny contracts and scraping by in the big leagues or he goes over to China and averages a Wilt-esque 40/20. If I had easy access to CBA streams I would totally prefer the second option.!
