Yogi Ferrell is quickly earning a reputation among highlight-makers (actually just me) of a guy whose assists just aren’t that good. He still gets them, and they’re still good basketball plays or whatever, but he’s more of a Brandon Knight who just gets assists because he has the ball in his hands a lot instead of a Tyler Ulis who creates them out of nothing. Ferrell had 5 dimes in this game, and only one of them was any good really. I didn’t show it. If you dislike my methods, you can make your own Yogi Ferrell highlights that show all of his assists as well as all of the times Mark Cuban patted himself on the back for discovering him.
Ferrell’s scoring, though, is still really sweet. That crossover of his is devastating when combined with his speed. Speed that is sorely needed on a team that has Dirk Nowitzki on it. He’s not as crafty as Ulis (who I have a total mancrush on, apparently), but his pull-up jumper is a good weapon when he decided that finishing isn’t going to be an option for him. Damn, I bet he wishes he was just a few inches taller. How many amazing players does the NBA miss out on because they were just too small? Forget about the D-League. We need the S-League, where the “S” stands for “Short” or “Small” or “Scrawny”.
