Seeing how Jusuf Nurkic is playing in Portland, it’s kind of disappointing that they couldn’t make him work in Denver. But that’s water under the bridge now. Everyone has moved on, probably. There isn’t a single person involved with all this stuff that still holds a grudge against any of the other people. What, you think Mason Plumlee hates Meyers Leonard for outplaying him out of Portland? Hates him so much that he keeps sending threatening social media correspondence to said player as well as local journalists and politicians? Don’t be silly. NBA players are professionals. They take their work seriously, but impersonally. They know it’s just a business, and sometimes business decisions need to be made.
Nurkic is kinda doing a bit of a Giannis-impersonation stats-wise since he came to Portland. Filling up the boxscore, getting some assists but not way too many, and finishing in the paint with nifty moves. Of course, their games couldn’t be more different in reality, but I want to make this comparison and nothing is going to stop me. I want those likes on this video, and I know if I pander to the viewing audience by comparing Nurk to one of the league’s finest young talents, they will have no choice but to give me the validation I so desperately desire.
