Kentavious Caldwell-Pope 26 Points Full Highlights (3/4/2017)

Priority number one for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: consistency! He’s been consistently inconsistent for most of his time on the Pistons (the exception being when he was just bad all the time his rookie year). Even this year, he has had great scoring games directly adjacent to low single-digit scoring games. He followed up his 38 point performance with a 2-pointer.

KCP represents the ideal SG in the NBA, maybe a little on the short side, but springy and rangy and defensy. The Pistons are probably gonna pay him big bucks to remain their starting guard next to Ish Smith, but the bucks could be bigger if he wouldn’t disappear for stretches. A team like the Pistons could use a consistent scorer. Someone who, instead of averaging 15, actually goes out and gets 15 every night. KCP is not that guy. He is a different guy, the hot-and-cold guy.

Consistency isn’t a thing you can just add to your overall package, so I don’t know why I’m even mentioning it. I guess, instead, he can work on making those short little midrange shots that he sucks at for some reason this year.
