It’s games like this that make you think that maybe Bismack Biyombo ISN’T the second-most overpaid player in the NBA behind Joakim Noah. A guy who can give you essentially a 15/15 line with good defense (sorry Vuc you don’t) would obviously be worth hella money to any team.
The problem is, Biyombo isn’t a 15/15 guy. If you played him big minutes he might average 10/10, but while doing that he would give you a lot of two-point and four-point games because he still has no scoring ability other than dunks, putbacks, and the occasional ill-advised jumper that we saw him pull out in the playoffs last year (coincidentally, the same playoffs that earned him his gigantic contract). He would be more valuable on a defense-oriented team (the Magic are 20th in defensive rating this year), but DownToBuck doesn’t give a hoot about defense or defense-oriented teams so I’d prefer if he just came into next season with three-point range or something.
Actually, what he should do is go work out with Hakeem and have the media fawn over his “new and improved” “post moves” and then never ever use them in a game, ever, because in a game players don’t just let you deliberately set up your move and then execute it without resistance.
