Plumlee tried to emulate Nikola Jokic in this game, and he pretty much succeeded. He got five assists, which is an amount that we would expect Jokic to get. He scored nineteen points, which is an amount that would be a little bit low for Jokic, but still acceptable. He had ten rebounds, which is, again, a Jokic-esque number. He got kicked in the balls by Markieff Morris exactly one time, which is 1.0 times more per game than Jokic gets kicked in the balls by that particular Morris twin, so Plumlee does have that going for him.
Unfortunately, having a Jokic-like performance does not equate to getting Jokic-like view counts on your Jokic-like highlight video. I probably wouldn’t have even made this video except I thought it might be the highlight of Plumlee’s Nuggets career, depending on what he does in the off-season as a free agent. If he does indeed go to another team, I want this video to be the defining snapshot of his time in Denver.
Side note, why doesn’t this guy dunk more often? His vertical leap is insane but his shoes always look like they’re stapled to the ground. Somebody get Andre Miller on the line!
