The Mavericks are clearly emboldened by their success in finding Yogi Ferrell. They’re cycling through D-Leaguers so fast that I’m starting to lose track of which 10-dayers are actually on their team and which are long gone. I guess that’s the right strategy, because for every Yogi you have 10 Ben Bentils. Gotta maintain as much throughput as possible.
Ferrell is certainly more successful than Jonathan Gibson, who had a similar breakout performance with the Mavs this year but failed to capitalize on it. Ferrell hasn’t matched his 9-three massacre, or even come close really, but he’s a semi-solid role-player on a team that isn’t one of the very worst in the NBA anymore. And what more can you ask for?
