Devin Booker has done it again. He’s like the Aaron Rodgers of the NBA, except he hasn’t had the soul sucked out of him by Olivia Munn. Does that count as a pop-culture reference? If I’m gonna compete with Bill Simmons I really need to get my pop-culture reference count up. Way up. Screw it. I’m counting it.
Anyway, Booker Report apparently is one of the clutchest players in the NBA. Just last game he had 9 points in the final 22 seconds of a losing effort, he had that buzzer-beating game-winner against the Kings earlier in the season, and now he has ANOTHER buzzer-beating game-winner, this time against the Mavericks. Let’s not even mention that he took and made the Suns’ last 4 buckets, okay? Not mentioning that part, it would make him seem almost superhuman.
Amid all the good stuff he did tonight, here’s a word of advice for young Booker: when you’re running back to the locker room after hitting a game winner, don’t let anyone stop you from running all the way back there. Don’t stop, turn around, and come back on the court. It looks lame. Even if the game might not be quite over, just run back there and wait for them to come get you. It’s way cooler that way.
