The thing that blows my mind about Gary Harris is that he looked like a nothing his first season in the league. He shot 30% from the field and 20% from three. He got a consistent ten to twelve minutes per game in the second half of the season but utterly failed to do anything with those chances, as far as I can see from my position scrutinizing the box-scores. I don’t know if I publically said it anywhere, but I had, perhaps subconsciously written him off as another mid-first round pick who was never going to pan out.
How foolish I was, to not only fail to be #hypedforgaryharris, but to be #dismissiveofgaryharrisabilitytobealegitnbaplayer!
We all know what happened. Hairy Garris came back after his rookie year and immediately made an impact as the full-time starting shooting guard. Then he came into this season and is shooting nearly 50% from the field and 43% from three. If you had told me after his rookie year that he would be putting up those kinds of percentages on a relatively high volume, I would have called you a dumbass to your face. Or, if you told me online, I would have typed the words “you are a big dumbass” for you to read.
Thinking about Gary Harris getting my heart pumping. I think it’s fair to say: I am #hypedforgaryharris.
