I don’t know what’s going on with the Bulls right now. I didn’t know before, but I definitely don’t now. I had just read that they had told Nikola Mirotic that he was out of their rotation. Okay. Kind of a weird decision, but that’s what they decided, and it’s their player after all. They can do what they want with him.
So now, after telling Mirotic that he’s basically done, they play him 28 minutes? Pick a plan of action and stick to it. Why would Hoiberg bench him so hard then unbench him just as hard? This might be the most glaring indictment of the Bulls’ FO/Coaching structure to this point.
Still, it’s good to see Mirotic actually do something on the court for once. I was worried that he had completely forgotten how to play, but he looked pretty competent tonight. Competent enough that maybe he’ll get more minutes in the future, but also maybe not competent enough so they’ll just play Joffrey Lauvergne instead.
