Say what you will about the DeMarcus Cousins trade, but whatever the end result, it allowed us to see the amazing scoring moves of one Skal Labissiere. Moves that were being held down. Moves that had been put in the doghouse. Going further back, moves that had almost fallen out of the first round.
I am getting Dirk Nowitzki vibes on his midrange turnaround jumper. No exaggeration, no hyperbole, no embellishment. This is for real. He has such great balance on them, goes straight up, perfect shooting motion, it’s a shock whenever one doesn’t go in. And, like Dirk, he can just shoot them over people. Oh man. Why were the Kings content to talent like this rot on the bench? So they could chase the 8th seed and an embarrassment at the hands of the Warriors/Spurs? Maybe I’m overreacting to a few nice highlights. I don’t care. Skal is so god-damn SMOOTH.
