Nicolas Brussino 11 Points Full Highlights (3/15/2017)

Every time a little-played rookie makes a shot in their limited minutes, the commentators bleat endlessly about “confidence”. This is especially true for rookies who aren’t shooting especially well. Rookies like Nicolas Brussino. But what if Brussino DIDN’T have confidence in this game? What if he was just jacking up shots because they were open? Would we be able to tell? Having confidence doesn’t necessarily influence whether or not they go on. Darko Milicic never once in his whole NBA career had a game where he played with confidence, yet he made plenty of field goals, and I’m sure some of them were attributed to “confidence” by over-excited commentators, even though we know that would be a false proclamation.

I’m just saying, let’s not attribute success to “confidence” when that success could be attributed to other things, such as “competence”.

Interesting side note: there is a replay for every one of Brussino’s four field goals. 100% replay coverage might be a first for DTB, so in some small way, you’re actually taking part in history right now. This could be the most important thing you do in your life depending on how much of a failure you are. In twenty years people will ask “where were you when DTB uploaded a video where each field goal was accompanied by an associated replay?”
