Solomon Hill’s name is one that gets brought up often in conversations about the worst contracts in the NBA. And for good reason; he’s getting paid 12 million per year to be an inefficient role-player. Don’t talk to me about defense. I don’t care about defense. Box-score stats aren’t everything, but they are something, and Hill simply doesn’t have them.
That all changes tonight. This is day one of the new era of Hill’s career. The era where he is a threat to score 30. The era where he can drop dimes like a PG. The era where DeMarcus Cousins isn’t around to screw everything up, allowing him to thrive. That is the era we are entering.
This era might end up being only one day long. That’s okay. The important thing is that it happened. We are all witnesses.
