It might seem prudent to blame Dënniß ßchrööder for the Hawks’ seven game losing streak. With Millsap out, he is their most important player for better or for worse (poor Dwight), and we can’t blame Millsap for having mysterious undisclosed injuries. Especially after last night’s disappointing loss to the last-place Nets, it’s easy to say “Dennis shouldn’t be shooting so many shots!” But ßchrööder is one of only two active players on the Hawks who you can count on to create offense, the other being Tim Hardaway Jr. It’s expected that both of those guys would shoot a lot in the absence of Millsap. And, you know, ßchrööder actually has good percentages for a volume-scoring point guard, so it’s not like you can blame him for looking so much to score.
Who do we blame for this loss if not ßchrööder and not Millsap and not Dwight? Let’s blame the big bench trio of Calderon/Dunleavy/Humphries, who scored five combined points on twelve shots, got five total rebounds and two total assists in 48 minutes of court time. Way to go guys! It’s your fault the Hawks lost to the Nets in embarrassing fashion! The three of you will have to fight over who gets to wear the LEDERHOSEN OF SHAME.
