T.J. “Warren Peace” Warren’s three-point shooting, which seemed improved after his rookie year, has un-improved; he’s only shooting 23% from deep this year. Knowing that he can’t make those shots right now, he hasn’t taken any three-pointers in his last two games.
Assuming that the three-ball is never going to be a huge part of his arsenal, Warren will perhaps inadvertently bring back the 80’s scoring ideal, which is to make a lot of layups and hit a lot of midrange jumpers when the defense doesn’t let you have layups. Watching old-school players succeeed in the new-school NBA is always a treat, just like it’s a treat to reminisce about new-school players who were born in the wrong decade and had to play in the 90’s instead of the 10’s.
The T.J. Warren Hype Advisory System is currently at Yellow – Elevated (significant risk of T.J. Warren hype), but it could go up to Orange – High in the upcoming days. View the handy reference chart here: https://i.imgur.com/IGcsSB0.jpg
