This is not very many field goals for Ricky Rubio. Only two, which means I could have left them out and the quality of this video would remain about the same. A layup, a midrange jumper (the kind he’s been canning regularly for a few weeks now), a bunch of lame free-throws, and that’s it for the scoring.
And it’s not like these 16 assists (the whole point of this vid) are super amazing or anything. He had some nice passes, but once again it’s a whole lot of Wiggins and Towns action. Not even a single dime to Cole Aldrich, who I bet if you gave him minutes would have some sweet synergy with Rubio. The Timberwolves are not exactly tanking yet, but maybe they should be thinking about having Rubio develop chemistry with some of these dudes who don’t get to play. Omri Casspi? Re-sign John Lucas III and you’d really have something, I bet.
