The eye-test is telling me that David Nwaba won’t be rejoining the Lakers next season. Athletic guards who can’t really shoot (someone please sign D.J. Stephens please please) always face an uphill battle when it comes to sticking in the NBA. There will always be more players in his mold that they can try out; if he wanted to have a guaranteed roster spot next year, he should’ve chucked way more than he did. It almost worked for Jabari Brown.
Yeah, I know he signed a multi-year contract. That doesn’t mean anything, except that the Lakers get to keep him around until preseason next year and then waive his heinie back to the D-League. And then the process can start all over again. What are the chances the Nets or some other horrible team pick him up next year? I’m still waiting on Vander Blue’s third chance in the league, by the way.
