Underrated tanking move of the year for Jason Kidd: having a dude who has taken only four free-throws THE ENTIRE YEAR attempt a technical. That’s the kind of next-level stuff that I’ve come to expect from the elite coaches of the NBA. Now, why the Bucks would want to tank at this point in the season I’m not exactly sure, but I’m not going to doubt it. These coaches’ minds work at a whole different plane of existence than us mortals.
In case you’re a little slow, the player I’m talking about is Rashad Vaughn. You should’ve been able to figure that out, although it’s easy to forget about his existence entirely. Vaughn hasn’t gotten to play at all this year. He had that 22-point explosion in the second game of the season, which got me really hyped (I was already hyped for him, so it was more like my hype was confirmed), and then nothing. Tons of DNPs and garbage time and forcing things to see if he could shoot his way back into the rotation. I’m still optimistic for him, though I don’t really know why, because he hasn’t shown anything except that one outburst. I guess I’m just a homer.
This was one of his best scoring games of the season, though it was sullied by him increasing his total turnovers on the year from 9 to 14. Still, it’s good to see him to at least a little bit of something, because he’s probably not gonna get to play in the playoffs until the Finals where they’re beating the Warriors by 30 every game on their way to a sweep. Then maybe they can find a handful of minutes for him.
