Bobby Portis was the reason the Bulls were victorious tonight. Bobby Portis won his team a playoff game. His first ever playoff game, and he, well, he didn’t exactly put his team on his back, but where would they have been without all his long jumpers? You can point to other players (player) on his team who may have done better, but they did what they usually do. Portis exceeded all expectations.
Portis probably won’t hit 3 threes again in the postseason, so the Bulls are going to have to figure out ways to win when he isn’t hitting everything he puts up there. I’m thinking Paul Zipser, or maybe Denzel Valentine. I lied when I said I like seeing stars do well in the playoffs. I want to see Valentine go for 20 or something. Realistically, in the world of reality in which we all reside, Wade needs to figure out how to be good again. For now, though, they can enjoy the win against the top seed, and try to forget about how much they all absolutely hate Hoiberg.
