Eric Gordon 24 Points/2 Dunks Full Highlights (10/17/2017)

Does it even really feel like Eric Gordon won Sixth Man of the Year to you? One of the commentators mentioned it during the broadcast and I was like “huh, oh yeah, I guess he did win that one”. At the same time, if you had told me it was Nick Young who won it instead, I would’ve totally believed you. Hell, I might still believe you.

I get the same kind of non-vibes with Malcolm Brogdon and the ROY of the Year award, but this isn’t a Brogdon video, this is a Gordon video, so that’s all I’m going to say about that for now.

I think my confusion stems from the fact that Gordon totally cratered in the later part of the season last year. He was, for a while, one of the absolute tippy-top three-point shooters in the league, rivaling or even surpassing Stephen Curry, but he failed to keep it up. He still ended up 4th in makes, which is really great, but I may have set my expectations too high after his insane start.

He didn’t exactly get back on track this game: his three-point shooting was conspicuously absent as he scored 24 on nothing but drives to the basket. 24 on nothing but drives to the basket is impressive, probably more impressive than if he had hit a bunch of jumpers, but drives are not the reason people watch Eric Gordon vids. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: layups? more like LAMEups.
