P.J. Tucker 20 Points Rockets Debut Full Highlights (10/17/2017)

Yet more evidence that Mike D’Antoni is a singularly offense-minded savant. We didn’t really need more evidence of that fact, but here it is anyway, ready to be added to the now towering pile: known non-scorer P.J. Tucker scored 20 points in his first game in D’Antoni’s system. Here’s a stat for you, because I know you guys frickin’ love stats and your perverse thirst for them can never be slaked:

Proportion of 20-point performances for P.J. Tucker in the 2016-17 season: 1/81

Proportion of 20-point performances for P.J. Tucker in the 2017-18 season: 1/1

Granted, some of the credit also should go to James Harden. And, maybe, some of the credit should go to Tucker himself, because he was the one who actually made the shots. But only a little bit of the credit, because at this point I am convinced that Ivan Chiriaev (real talk he was way before his time now everyone wants a multi-positional stretch five) could score 10 per contest in Crazy Mike’s unhinged offensive system.
