First off: sorry for the clickbait video title. But I want people to see Robert Covington get his ankles obliterated by the TIGHT HANDLES of Luke Babbitt. And its not even as clickbaity as it could be; I didn’t even add “/1 Dunk” even thought he also had a dunk this game. He really did it all tonight, hit some threes and midrange pullup jimbos as well. Offensively his best game by far as a Hawk.
Let us revisit my prediction for him from August, which I twittered because I didn’t have any other way to share my extremely important opinions: “#official DTB prediction: Luke Babbitt will average 11 PPG for the Hawks next season. Not even being funny right now. #babbersnation”
Babbitt is currently averaging a little over 5 a game, about half of what I thought he would. I might be the world’s biggest Babbers fan, but I didn’t think 11 a game was unreasonable. Have you seen the Hawks’ roster? It’s barren. There is no reason that he shouldn’t be getting tons of touches as like the 6th option on offense.
The #babbersnation hashtag hasn’t gained much traction, by the way. Step it up, guys.
