Khris “Khobe” Middleton is off to his usual slow start. Except it’s even slower than usual. Other than that 43 point game and maybe one other, he’s been straight booty. Is he out of shape? Rhetorical question. Yes. He is out of shape, he must be, because he looks a half-step slow so far. Too much Carolina BBQ in the offseason, mayhap? I can’t really blame him, because something about coleslaw on a pulled pork sandwich elevates both items. Even though coleslaw sucks normally.
Anyway, yeah, I’ve been talking up Middleton as the Bucks’ second-best player for a long time now, and he still might be, but he needs to step it up. Second bananas have to be better, and if he doesn’t start finding the three-ball again, the official second banana designation will have to go to John Henson. Unstoppable lefty hook vs. flat as man-ass jumper? It’s closer than you think.
K-Middy did a lot better than usual tonight, showing his old team that they were really big dumbasses for trading him, scoring 27 on almost nothing but tough jumpers. If he wasn’t yelling “Khobe!” after some of these, he was doing something wrong.
