I could make some ironic statements here like “Who even needs Jeff Teague anymore” or “I don’t even know who Jeff Teague is” or “Jeff Teague is being made irrelevant right before our very eyes” but I won’t. You know why? Because Jeff Teague is still a better player than Tyus Jones. Jones might be young, he might represent the unknown, and he’s absolutely played well these last few games where he’s been the starter, but his 8/6 line per 36 is absolutely dwarfed by Teague’s 15/8. Teague is a former all-star. Jones’ ceiling is him having a wet dream about going to the all-star gaming and getting it on with one of the cheerleaders. Assuming that they have cheerleaders at the all-star game; I’ve never looked.
All that said, who even needs Jeff Teague anymore? Tyus Jones in all his midgety midgetness has shown himself to be a capable distributor, an okay shooter, and a ballsy floater-taker. As far as I’m concerned, Jeff Teague can have Achilles soreness for as long as he wants, because I want this audition for Jones to last forever.
