The Magic are now so injured, and thus, so bad, that Mario Hezonja is now one of their better options on offense. They might never win a game again, but at least we get to see the Croatian Crustacean unleashed against real NBA competition for 30 minutes a night. In my opinion, that is worth way more than any amount of Magic victories.
We are now in game seven of the Hezonja era of Magic basketball, so how are things looking? Well, his play hasn’t lead to any wins yet, but I bet if he wasn’t there at all they would’ve lost by even more points than they actually did. So there’s that. He had that 28-point outburst that took everyone, including himself, by surprise, then another 17-point game, this one, and then two more double-digit affairs. That’s pretty good! 5 good games out of 7, a ratio certainly unprecedented in his career until now.
And he would’ve had even more points tonight if he could keep his clumsy feet behind the three point line.
