The good thing about the Grizzlies’ current situation (which is a talent-bereft roster, a known bad coach [J.B. “Joe Blob Dickerstaff” Bickerstaff], an injured star point guard, and a discontented star center) is that Tyreke “Reke of Putrefaction” Evans gets to constantly have throwback games to his rookie season. This is exactly the kind of situation that allows him to get unleashed because there’s nobody else around to score the ball (Gasol just doesn’t have it in him to be a good volume scorer) and there’s also nobody else around to handle the ball.
I have instituted a new alert system which I call TYREKE EVANS AVERAGING 20/5/5 WATCH. I chose those stats as a baseline because that’s what ‘Reke averaged his rookie year. Currently, he’s averaging 19/5/4, so he’s not quite there, but he’s only two total stats away. Expect more updates from TYREKE EVANS AVERAGING 20/5/5 WATCH as he inches closer to his goal.
