Kelly “The Klynyk” Olynyk has done a good job of reinventing his game coming out of college. Almost… too good. I could spend a lot of words trying to get my point across, or I could just say it straight up: I want Olynyk to do more fancy post moves. With footwork and everything.
That’s what he did in college, and he did it maybe once or twice in his first Summer League, and that was it. No more fancy post moves. Maybe the occasional non-fancy one, but that’s not good enough for me, and it shouldn’t be good enough for you. Who cares if everyone knew, including him, that they wouldn’t work against real NBA players? You never know until you try and fail 100 times.
Now he just wants to shoot threes like he’s some sort of softie Euro. It’s working for him, since he’s one of the best three-point shooters, percentage-wise, in the entire league, but come on. White seven-footer shooting threes. YAWN. Just go in there and pretend to be Al Jefferson for a bit. You’ll be fine.
