Mario Hezonja keeps on looking solid. He had a little three game mini-slump where he wasn’t scoring double figures, but now he’s right back at it. At this point, looking solid on a consistent basis is a great victory for him. Whatever expectations people had for him before the draft are likely not going to be met, but that doesn’t mean he still can’t be a decent NBA rotation player.
He spent lots of tonight guarding LeBron James, and whether he was successful or unsuccessful, it doesn’t matter. LeBron scores whether you’re defending him or not, and he only scored 30, so Hezonja must have done something right. Right enough that the coaches thought he was worthy enough to keep doing it. The fact that he scored 16 and grabbed 10 boards on top of that? S-O-L-I-D.
