Bogdan “Serbian Kobe” Bogdanovic is having a great January so far, playing thirty minutes per game and averaging a robust 14/5 on 50% shooting in the four games. He’s still coming off the bench, but his minutes have been consistently near thirty for a while now, so it’s safe to say that Dave Joerger has fully embraced Bogdanomania.
However, Bogdanomania can never gain mainstream appeal here in the States until Bogey scores twenty or more points. Dragan Bender did it and all of a sudden everybody realizes that he could be good. Bogdanovic is ALREADY good, no qualifiers necessary, but hasn’t scored enough points in a single game for people to realize it unless they’re 1.) a Serb b.) A Kings fan (sorry) or c.) A DownToBuck disciple.
Bogdanovic was close to the magical twenty point mark in this game, but a missed free throw crushed those dreams. I’m sure the wait for him scoring twenty won’t be that long, but I’m impatient and I want him to do it now.
