Ricky Rubio’s assist numbers are way down from last year, a result of him moving from the Timberwolves’ “spam pick-and-pops with KAT” system to the Jazz’s “take the ball out of Ricky’s hands so some flashy rookie can play with it” system. It’s a shame, but what can you do? His hot shooting percentages to start the season have regressed back to his normal, surprising no one. So now he’s the same scoring Ricky as ever (a few more attempts, maybe), but with way fewer dimes.
It seemed like I was making a Rubio highlight vid every other day last season, especially by the end. Now? Here’s a mind-blowing fact for you: the last time I made Rubio highlights this season, Obama was just beginning his second term in office. I know, sounds unbelievable right?
