At last! With his 19th 20-point game of his rookie season, Donovan Mitchell has finally passed Karl Malone in the ridiculously arbitrary and completely un-notable “most 20-point games for a Jazz rookie” category. Now the Jazz commentators can finally stop talking about it!
Like we even needed some BS “record” to tell us how good Donovan Mitchell is. Yeah, we get it, we see it with our own eyes every game: he’s good. But the stat has an implied implication that goes even deeper; maybe he could be better than Malone? Which is obvious foolishness. The only thing other than this record that Mitchell has over Malone is not banging 13-year-olds and not having like a million baby-mommas.
