It’s time for Michael Beasley to start thinking about his next contract. He didn’t end up getting paid all the much after his stint with the Bucks, but maybe his current successes with the Knicks will earn him a little more dough. If not, he really needs to find a new agent. Not saying that I would be the ideal choice, but I pretty much would be. I know a lot about contracts and team options and stuff.
To help Beasley out, I’ve compiled a list of teams that could use his services next year:
Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron James yelled at Beasley for not shutting up while eating ice cream with waffle fries (Beasley was the one eating, not LeBron LOL), but Beasley doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would do that anymore, so I bet they could coexist really well.
New York Knicks: familiarity is a factor here, but him resigning would have to come with some conditions. Like, free ice cream and waffle fries at all team practices.
Los Angeles Lakers: after the Lakers strike out in free agency for the 10th straight year, they’ll be looking for some cheap-ish veteran talent to help guide their young’uns through the rigors of the NBA. Beasley is definitely a veteran talent, and since he’s mellowed out he won’t be too bad of an influence. And if it ends up blowing up, think of the reality show potential!
Seattle Supersonics: as a newly-created expansion team, the Sonics will be in a perfect position to acquire Beasley and let him score 22 points per game. No pressure, no expectations, and a fanbase that is just so happy to have NBA basketball back in their city that they’ll idolize any scrubbo that walks out of the tunnel, much less a legit player like Beasley.
