Gary Harris was disappointing me to start the season. I was expecting big things from him, and instead I got a slightly worse version of him from last year. Still a really good player, but you want players on rookie contracts to get noticeably better year over year.
Everything’s good now though! He’s not way better than last year, but at least his scoring is up a little bit. The regression back into the scrubdom of his rookie year that I feared so deeply is not coming to pass. The three-point shooting he was showing off last year seems now to have been unsustainable, but he’s offset that by somehow shooting twos even better than before. I don’t know how he does it. Careful shot selection, I suppose. And the ability to dunk it when things get iffy.
