I’ve been waiting all year to make that joke, and it’s just as great as I imagined it was going to be. I was beginning to worry that it would never happen, but the Magic are bad enough now that they don’t especially care who they put on the court. And as the 76ers know, if you cycle enough seemingly scrubby talent through your system, eventually you find some gems. Sometimes you get Adreian Payne, but some other times you get Birch!
Maybe I’m overreacting, but there’s a reason there was so much hype around this kid once upon a time (if I’m remembering correctly, which it’s very possible I’m not). And I say “kid” even though he’s already 25. Okay, now I’m getting a little less hyped. Hold on. Need to rewatch this vid to get the excitement back.
I’m back! Hell yeah, this dude is going to be special, he’s already made Gorgui Dieng into his bitch times three, and Karl-Anthony Towns as well. The Timberwolves didn’t know what to do with him, and he basically lead his team to an unlikely victory. Who needs Vucevic? At least this guy plays defense and doesn’t immediately look to see if he can shoot every time he touches the ball.
