Jarell Martin is a throwback to a (better????) different time of the NBA, when power forwards didn’t have to stretch the floor or handle the ball, when all they had to do was be beefy and go after rebounds like it was their baby falling out of a second-story window. Sure, Martin shoots some jumpers sometimes, but the majority of his damage is done in the painted area, where wimps dare not go.
Wimps like Kristaps Porzingis, who got trucked by Martin on a nice spin move late in this one. Normally spin moves are dainty ballerina-type moves, but this one had power. The commentators thought it was a flop, but I choose to believe that Martin was simply so overpowering that Porzingis had no option but to collapse to the ground as a pile of pale white sticks.
