I like Sterling Brown for the Bucks this season. He’s not great or anything, but he’s passable. I don’t know if I like him enough to be willing to see him play 40 minutes in a game though. That’s a lot of minutes for a guy who hasn’t proven himself in the league on a team that has playoff aspirations.
We’ve seen this before with Jason Kidd. Someone injured or out of the game for some reason? Just play his backup all of the missing player’s minutes plus all the minutes he normally gets. It happened tonight with Brown replacing Malcolm Brogdon, and it’ll happen again. Minute-management is just one of the many areas in which he is lacking.
So Brown played way more minutes than he ever has before, and he ended up scoring 14 points because of it. That part I’m fine with. I like the 14 points. He cooled off after the first quarter, but he did a nice job replacing Brogdon’s scoring at least a bit. I was kinda hoping for some non-garbage minutes for Rashad Vaughn, though. I guess I should know by now that he’s basically never going to see the court again for reasons that I can’t discern at all.
