Joe Ingles AKA Jinglin’ Joe AKA The Trevally From Happy Valley AKA Sloppy Joe AKA Slo-Mo Joe AKA Jingles AKA Jingle Balls put up 21 points in short order tonight, tying his career-high. He must have known that, because as soon as he hit 21 with 7 minutes to go in the third quarter, he stopped scoring. No more points for him, only two more shot attempts which he probably bricked on purpose. Disappointing, but the Jazz were creaming the Clippers so bad that it was understandable.
Fans of Australian basketball legends will quickly notice that the five threes Ingles made tonight equaled the five threes the great Shane Heal hit back on November 27th, 1996 for the Timberwolves. Heal, with that performance, marked himself as the greatest three-point sharpshooter Australia ever produced, but Ingles has, with his play the last few seasons, taken that title away from him. A shame, but as they say, records are made to be broken.
