Another Warren-style performance for T.J. Warren. 11 buckets, all of them layups, with 1 measly free throw to round things out. And while it may be extremely typical for him, does this remind you of anyone else? Any other All-Star from the past…?
This one’s hard, so I’m just going to tell you: Kiki Vandeweghe. At least, that’s what the Suns commentator seems to think. I’m going to have to take his word for it because the only thing I know about Kiki is that he chucked his way to almost 30 points per game on one of those run-and-gun-and-cherry-pick Nuggets teams of the 80’s. Warren’s not quite up to that level yet, but I bet he would be if the Suns upped the pace a little bit and he learned to shoot threes.
Real talk: if he ever learns to shoot threes he could average 28 a game easily. He’s averaging 20 on almost all layups. Add in an outside shot and he wouldn’t ever have to pass the ball.
