Is the Spencer Dinwiddie show over? I was really looking forward to the double-length season finale where he got a 50-people triple-double that led the Nets to the playoffs somehow. The D’Angelo Russell show is fine, but it’s severely lacking in the afros department as well as in the area of big goofy smiles.
Dinwiddie also had the underdog thing going for him, which Russell definitely doesn’t, due to his draft standing. Russell is supposed to be good, and him actually following through on that isn’t overly exciting. It’s probably more fun when he sucks, really, because then you can make fun of him for sucking and get patronizingly excited when he does do good. That’s why Anthony Bennett is (or was, but hopefully is again pretty soon) the most compelling player in the league.
Yeah, I pretty much compared Russell to Bennett, what are you going to do about it? That’s what I thought.
